Here's a beautiful '79 Stratocaster in our collection. It's a superbly crafted piece from the CBS era.

With its Maple fingerboard, it appears black at first glance. The story of this guitar is quite different. It was born Sunburst but was repainted (refined) in black at the customer's request when ordering. At that time, Fender produced a lot of Sunburst, and when someone wanted another color, it was common for Fender to take a ready-made body and repaint it in the requested color. This was the case for this one. You can also see the sunburst under the black in places where there are chips.

Another unique feature of this Strat is that it features a Fender X1 bridge pickup. A punchier pickup with more of everything.
